Jaipur students rarely lack material. There are photocopied packets from older batchmates, PDF folders forwarded on WhatsApp, second-hand guides from bookstalls, and endless videos. The usual problem is too much material of uneven quality, and notes that never get reread.
What good IELTS study notes look like
Good notes are short, personal and used. A two-hundred-page photocopied guide you never open is not study material; a single page of your own recurring mistakes is.
- Strategy notes tell you what to do in the test: how to approach Matching Headings, how to write a Task 1 overview, how to use the 1-minute preparation in Speaking.
- Error notes record what you get wrong: "I keep writing plurals as singular in Listening", "I write 'discuss about'".
- Language notes collect useful collocations and paraphrases with an example sentence, rather than single words with Hindi meanings.
- Topic notes give you a few ideas and vocabulary for common Task 2 and Speaking Part 3 themes such as education, environment, technology, health and cities.
Check any material against the current test format. Old notes sometimes describe outdated task types or timings.
Our Study Notes and learning tools
IELTS Learning includes Study Notes: strategy chapters for each module, written for the current test and paired with practice. Read the chapter, then practise that skill straight away while it is fresh.
Alongside them:
- Mistake Notebook saves your wrong answers from practice sets and mocks automatically, so your error notes build themselves.
- English Improvement covers grammar and vocabulary for students who want to strengthen the basics before test practice.
- Spaced-repetition flashcards bring back vocabulary just before you are likely to forget it.
- Personal study plan turns your test date and target into a schedule.
- Quick Wrap is a last-minute checklist for the days before your test.

Using Cambridge IELTS books alongside our tests
Many students also use the official Cambridge IELTS practice books, and they are worth having. Our tests follow the same official format, so the two work well together:
- Use the Cambridge books on paper if you will sit the paper-based test, or as extra full tests for variety.
- Use our tests for computer-style practice, instant Listening and Reading scores, AI feedback on Writing and Speaking, and a Mistake Notebook that tracks patterns across every test.
- Do not work through every Cambridge test in the first fortnight. Save a few for the final month, when you need fresh, unseen material.
- Mark the book tests honestly with the answer keys and enter your scores in the Band Score Calculator so all your results sit in one place.
Finding IELTS study material in Jaipur
If you prefer printed books, bookshops across the city and near the University of Rajasthan campus stock IELTS guides and the Cambridge series; check the edition and publication year before you buy. Many college libraries in Jaipur keep copies too, and a quiet library seat is a good place for a timed Reading test.
Your phone counts as study material as well. Twenty minutes of Daily Vocabulary and flashcards on a bus or metro ride between Mansarovar and Sindhi Camp, five days a week, adds up to well over an hour and a half. Keep forwarded PDFs to a minimum: unverified files are often old, incomplete or full of errors in the answer keys.
A weekly study routine
For a student with about 10 hours a week:
- Monday: one timed Reading set and a careful review.
- Tuesday: one Listening set, plus the Study Notes chapter for your weakest module.
- Wednesday: one Writing Task 2 with AI feedback.
- Thursday: Speaking: three Part 2 cue cards with the timer and a set of Part 3 questions.
- Friday: Writing Task 1 and a Mistake Notebook review.
- Saturday: a full mock test, alternating between ours and a Cambridge book test.
- Sunday: rest, with a blog post and a few flashcards if you feel like it.
Daily Vocabulary runs every day throughout. When the free tools have shown you where you stand, register to unlock the full Study Notes and keep all your IELTS study notes, mistakes and scores in one place.
