IELTS Mock Test in Manila: Practise the Computer Format at Home

A full mock test is the closest you can get to test day without paying the exam fee. If you live anywhere in Metro Manila, you can sit one at home tonight, under real timing, and know exactly where your band stands by the end.

  • 15 full mock tests
  • 88 Listening and 52 Reading practice sets
  • AI band feedback on Writing and Speaking
  • 1-to-1 teacher sessions from $5

Why mock tests matter more than extra exercises

Short practice sets teach you question types. A full mock test teaches you something different: how to keep concentrating for close to three hours, how to manage time across a whole paper, and how your performance changes when you are tired. Many candidates in Manila who score well on individual exercises are surprised when their full-test result is half a band lower. The mock shows you that gap before the real exam does.

A good IELTS mock test also gives you a reliable baseline. Without one, it is hard to know whether you are ready to book or still need another month.

How our mock tests work

IELTS Learning has 15 complete mock tests for Academic and General Training. Each one covers all four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.

  • Computer-delivered screens. You get the timer, question navigator, flag for review, highlighter and notes, and drag-and-drop for headings and word-box summaries, just like the computer-delivered IELTS.
  • Instant bands for Listening and Reading the moment you submit.
  • AI-estimated bands for Writing, with feedback on Task Achievement or Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, and Grammatical Range and Accuracy.
  • Speaking with timed Parts 1, 2 and 3, including a real one-minute preparation and a two-minute speaking timer for the cue card, and AI feedback on your transcript.

The free sample mock test includes all four sections, so you can try the full experience with no card.

Sitting a mock test under exam conditions in Manila

Home in Metro Manila is rarely silent, so set things up deliberately:

  1. Pick your slot. Weekend mornings tend to be quietest for students; if you work nights in a BPO, choose the hours after you have slept, not straight after a shift.
  2. Tell the household. Ask family not to interrupt for three hours. The tricycle horns and karaoke next door are beyond your control, but the people at home are not.
  3. Charge everything. Keep your laptop plugged in and charged in case of a brownout, and use your most stable internet connection.
  4. Use headphones for Listening, as you will in the computer-delivered test.
  5. No pausing. Run Listening, Reading and Writing back to back, as on test day. Do Speaking on the same day or the next.
  6. No phone, no dictionary. If you check a word, the score is no longer honest.

How to use your results

The band score is the start, not the end. After each mock test:

  • Go through every wrong Listening and Reading answer. They are saved automatically to the Mistake Notebook, so you can sort them by question type and spot patterns, for example losing marks mainly on map labelling or NOT GIVEN.
  • Read your Writing feedback criterion by criterion. If Coherence and Cohesion is lowest, your next essays should focus on paragraph structure, not new vocabulary.
  • Listen back to your Speaking recording and read the transcript. Count your hesitations and repeated words.
  • Use the Band Score Calculator to see how module scores combine into your overall band, and which module will lift it fastest.

How many mock tests should you take?

There is no single right number, but a common pattern works well:

  • One at the start to set your baseline.
  • One every one to two weeks during preparation, with targeted practice in between.
  • Two in the final fortnight, at the same time of day as your booked test if possible.

For most candidates that is somewhere between four and eight full tests. Taking mocks every day without reviewing them is less useful than taking fewer and studying each one carefully.

Paper or computer?

Test sessions in and around Metro Manila are offered on paper and on computer through the official IELTS providers. If you have chosen the computer-delivered test, practising on our computer-style screens is especially valuable: typing an essay, using the highlighter and moving between questions all take getting used to. If you will sit the paper test, our tests still follow the same official format and timing. Check fees and available dates on the official booking websites, as they change.

Questions from students in Manila

Is the free IELTS mock test really complete?

Yes. The free sample mock test includes Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and you do not need a card to take it. Listening and Reading are scored instantly, and Writing and Speaking receive AI feedback.

Can I take a mock test at an IELTS Learning centre in Manila?

No, there is no physical centre. All mock tests are online, so you take them at home, in a dorm or anywhere in Metro Manila with a stable connection. That also means no travel time across the city.

How close are the mock test scores to the real IELTS?

Listening and Reading bands use the same marking approach as the real test, so they are a good indication if you sit the mock honestly under timed conditions. Writing and Speaking bands are AI estimates, useful for tracking progress, and a teacher session can give you a human check before test day.

What should I do if there is a brownout during my mock test?

Keep your laptop charged and plugged in before you start, so a short power cut does not end the test. If you lose the connection, note how far you got and treat that section's result with caution. You can retake the section later for a cleaner score.

Should I practise on computer if I am taking the paper test?

It still helps, because the questions, timing and format are the same. However, also practise writing by hand at least a few times, so you know how many words you fit on a line and how long your handwriting takes.
